The Andrews Research & Education in Gulf Breeze, Florida is conducting a suturing course for beginners on Friday, February 26, 2010 from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The course chairmen will provide instruction, demonstration and hands–on practice of suturing, stapling and glue wound closure.
Participants will gain insight into the anatomy of the skin, principals of healing and basic wound care. Basic suturing techniques including undermining, stapling and the application of adhesives will be demonstrated and practiced.
Baptist Hospital is accredited by the Florida Medical Association to sponsor continuing medical education for physicians.
Baptist Hospital designates this activity for a maximum of 8 hours of CME/CEUs and will be accepted as the required certification for the wound closure portion of Level 4 privileges for Physician Technical Assistants (PTA’s) at Baptist Hospital facilities. Return demonstration is required for wound closure certification.
CEU credits will be provided for Nurses, Surgical Technicians, Medical Assistants, and ATCs.
