Spine Center Physicians
Meet Our Spine Center Physicians
No other medical center in northwest Florida utilizes a multidisciplinary approach by including physicians from the fields of neurosurgery, physical medicine and rehabilitation, orthopaedic spine specialists and pain management. This concentrated effort provides the Andrews Institute the capability of treating most spine problems quickly and efficiently. Physicians from all fields are available for consultation to diagnose and treat every condition relating to the spine.
NeuroMicroSpine Specialists
Neurosurgeons are highly trained specialists who complete six to eight years of extensive training. Their entire experience is dedicated to the care and treatment of delicate neural elements associated with the brain and spinal cord. These physicians have vast training in skull-based surgery, cerebrovascular and microneurosurgery. Neurosurgeons are experts in neural physiology and anatomy, which gives them significant perspective in working in and around the central nervous system.
Current training programs are dedicated to treating all aspects of spinal disorders and focus on minimally invasive spinal (MIS) surgery techniques. Most major training institutions have dedicated faculty that teach the latest techniques applied to MIS surgery. Much of their training concentrates on reconstructive techniques employing MIS surgery to rebuild the spine. Neurosurgeons devote the majority of their residency to developing this skill set that sets them apart from other spine specialists.
Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation
Our physical medicine and rehabilitation doctors and staff are experts at helping patients recover from a variety of muscular and skeletal injuries that ordinarily do not require surgery. They are particularly skillful dealing with difficult and often chronic illnesses of the neck and back as well as many sports related injuries. They are experts in the diagnosis of nerve and muscle conditions using electromyography and nerve conduction studies.
Orthopaedic Spine
Orthopaedic spine surgeons are trained in the latest surgical techniques to treat spinal disorders. Surgical procedures include discectomy, foraminotomy, laminectomy, and spinal instrumentation and fusion.
